This is The Choc Pot's signature dessert, the molten choc pot. It's like a chocolate fondant, complete with a gooey, molten centre and in case there wasn't enough chocolate, some extra molten milk and dark chocolate has been drizzled on top.

If that's all a bit much for you, there's always hot chocolate - a standard fall-back order for me at any chocolate cafe. The Choc Pot does a mean hot chocolate that can be ordered as dark, milk or white, and is a great winter warmer for these chilly nights we've been having.
Chocolate and salted caramel milkshake - $7.50 |
For something a bit different, there's a red velvet hot chocolate, or take your pick from the selection of cold drinks, like this chocolate and salted caramel milkshake. The salted caramel is made in house but I find that the addition of the caramel makes the drink a little too sickly sweet for my liking.
Strawberry Fields Waffle - $14 |
It's hard to resist a good waffle, especially when it's topped with lashings of melted milk chocolate and strawberries. There's a good balance of sweet and sour in this dish with the waffle being a good base for the slightly tart strawberries and the sweet chocolate.
Chocolate souffle with salted caramel - $12 |
And because we're pigs, we also order the chocolate souffle with salted caramel. It wasn't quite the high-topped, egg-white based French souffle that we were expecting, but it is delicious nonetheless. It's actually quite similar to the molten Choc Pot we had, with a slightly less gooey centre and a bit more air worked into the mixture.

Although the souffle is served with the Choc Pot's house made salted caramel, I prefer the dark, slightly bitter chocolate flavour of the souffle unadulterated by the sweet salted caramel sauce.
The Choc Pot is only a small cafe, but this means that it can focus on making fresh chocolate desserts onsite using high quality ingredients like Callebaut chocolate and jersey milk. It's located in Burwood, which might be a bit out of the way for some, but it's definitely worth the trek, especially for that molten choc pot! Take my advice and indulge yourself by not sharing :)
